Compare Dog Boarding Prices

Updated 2025-05-08

Boarding two dogs together is usually cheaper than two separate bookings, but the discount structure varies significantly between operators. Some offer a flat percentage off the second dog; others have a fixed extra-dog nightly rate. This guide explains what to expect and how to compare prices across operators.

Typical multi-dog pricing structures

Flat extra-dog rate: the most common approach. A second dog from the same household is charged at a discounted nightly rate — typically 50–75% of the first dog's rate.

Percentage discount: some operators apply a percentage reduction (e.g. 10–20% off) for additional dogs in the same party.

No discount: some kennels charge full price per dog. Confirm this before booking if you have multiple dogs.

Does it cost more to board dogs in the same run?

Many kennels allow dogs from the same household to share a run, which can reduce costs. Confirm that the shared run is large enough for your dogs and that the kennel is comfortable with your dogs' relationship and temperament.

How to compare multi-dog costs

When using our price comparison tool, note that published prices are for single dogs unless stated otherwise. Always confirm the extra-dog rate directly with the operator before booking.
