Our process

Built for trust, not for booking fees

  1. 01

    Council-sourced

Every operator listed holds a current animal-activity licence on a public council register. If a licence expires, they come off the site.

  2. 02

    Their prices, not ours

Rates are pulled directly from each operator’s own pages. We don’t estimate, mark up, or charge commission.

  3. 03

    Book direct

Click through to the operator’s website and book with them. We’re not a booking platform — you pay them, not us.

Questions

What people ask before booking

How does Compare Dog Boarding Prices work?
We aggregate the public Animal Activity Licensing registers from every UK council into a single searchable directory. Prices come straight from each operator’s own website — we don’t estimate, mark up, or charge commission. We’re a directory, not a booking platform: you book directly with the operator.
Are all the operators on the site licensed?
Yes. Every operator we publish holds a current Animal Activity Licence from their local council at the time of last verification. If a licence expires or is revoked, the operator is removed. We publish the licence number and licensing authority on each operator’s profile so you can cross-check it directly with the council.
How accurate are the prices?
Prices are sourced from each operator’s own published website with the observation date noted. We don’t accept operator-submitted rates without a verifiable source. If a price changes on the operator’s site, we re-observe and update.
Do you charge operators or take a commission?
No. The directory is free for both operators and dog owners. Operators can optionally claim their profile to update their details, and a small Featured placement programme exists — clearly labelled as a paid placement and excluded from natural rankings or scores.
How is this different from Rover, Gudog, or Pawshake?
Those are sitter marketplaces — you book a sitter through their platform and they take a fee. We’re an independent directory of council-licensed kennels and home boarders. You contact the operator directly. We surface signals (licence status, star rating, Higher tier, verified prices) that marketplaces don’t publish.
