What we publish

We publish operator listings, price data, and explanatory editorial content. Every published fact must be traceable to a primary source: a council register, an operator’s own published rates, or official guidance. We do not publish claims we cannot source.

How operator descriptions and features are produced

The short “About” paragraph and the “What they offer” feature bullets shown on each operator profile are extracted by a large language model from the operator’s own published website. The model is constrained to use only visible content on the source page — it does not invent facts, infer claims from external sources, or paraphrase beyond what is published by the operator.

Every LLM-extracted block carries the source URL and the date of observation directly under it, so any specific claim can be cross-checked against the original page on the date it was extracted. If the operator’s website changes, the extracted summary on this site does not auto-update — re-extraction is logged with a new date. If we discover a factual error, we suppress the affected claim and re-extract, with the correction logged.

Licensing facts (licence status, star rating, tier), prices, addresses, and counts on this site are not LLM-extracted. Those come directly from council animal-activity registers and from each operator’s own structured pricing content. The LLM extraction is limited to the descriptive prose block and the bullet features.

What we do not publish

  • LLM-extracted licensing or pricing facts. Star ratings, tier, licence status, and prices come only from primary council and operator sources, never from LLM extraction.
  • Editorial articles written by a language model. Guides and explanatory editorial content are written by named human contributors. LLM use is confined to the per-operator description and feature extraction described above.
  • Unsourced numeric claims. Any price, count, or percentage shown on a public page carries a source and a date. Sample sizes are shown where relevant.
  • Residential addresses of home boarders without the operator’s consent. See our address privacy policy.
  • Google review ratings as our own first-party ratings. Where Google ratings appear, they are clearly attributed.
  • Speculative “cheapest” or “best” claims where sample size is below 3 current price observations.
  • Paid placements mixed into natural sort without clear labelling. Sponsored content is labelled.

Conflicts of interest

This site may earn affiliate revenue from marketplace links (e.g., Rover, Pawshake). Affiliate links are marked rel="sponsored" and disclosed inline. Affiliate relationships do not influence operator rankings or pricing data.

We do not accept payment from operators to improve their listing position or data. Operators can claim their listing to add or correct information — claimed status is shown, and claims go through a review process.

Corrections policy

We correct errors promptly and visibly. If we change a material fact, we note what changed and when. We do not silently delete wrong information without a correction notice.

Submit a correction request. Acknowledgement within 5 working days.

Scope limitations

We cover England, Scotland, and Wales. Northern Ireland operates under different licensing regulations and is not currently covered. Coverage within Great Britain depends on council register availability — see the licensing coverage map.

Editorial independence

Data collection, publishability decisions, and editorial content are independent of commercial relationships. The data pipeline runs on open council sources and operator-published rates. No operator or marketplace can purchase inclusion or exclusion.
