Frequently asked questions

What are drop off and collection times?

Day care is generally between the hours of 8am and 6pm but we are flexible and try to fit in with your schedule, so just ask.

What if my dog becomes ill during the stay?

In the unlikely event that your dog becomes sick or injured he / she will be treated by our local practice, which is only a 5 minute drive away. If you prefer us to use your own vet then every effort will be made to accommodate this, but if it is an emergency, then the nearest practice available will be used for the welfare of the dog.

How do I pay for my booking?

We ask for a 25% deposit for holiday boarding to reserve the place as numbers are strictly limited, with the balance payable when the dog commences his or her stay. For day care / emergency care payment can be made on the day.

Will my dog be sleeping in a crate?

No, not unless this is something you particularly ask for, generally I find they are happier with a choice of beds with the freedom to move around, have access to their water etc.

Where will my dog be during the stay?

He or she will live as family in our home, this is why home boarding is only suitable for domestic house trained pets with a nice nature, as they will be with one or possibly two others and in a nice clean home environment.

What will I need to bring with my dog?

Everything that they would normally require, such as food, any biscuits or chews that you like them to have, either a familiar blanket or bed, their favourite toy and so on. In fact anything you think will make your pet's stay comfortable and familiar.

Can I visit prior to booking my dog in?

Of course. In fact we don't take dogs in unless they have been for a familiarisation visit beforehand, this gives us the chance to assess their temperament, meet you, and ensure that they are suitable for home boarding, and to discuss their individual requirements with you.
